Qatar and Poland event promotes opportunities and expands relations

Qatar`s Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently revealed that the trade exchange between Qatar and Poland has grown by 80% over the past 5 years reaching QAR 4.73 billion (USD 1.3 billion) in 2023.

As a result, the Republic of Poland ranked as the 21st trade partner of Qatar in 2023. Furthermore, there are 38 Polish companies operating in the Qatari market, 32 of which are in partnership with a Qatari partner, one is entirely Polish-owned, four operate under the Qatar Financial Centre and one operates in the free zones.

The statistics were revealed at the recently held Qatari Polish New Technology Business Forum. The event represented an important opportunity to explore the prospects of joint cooperation. Moreover, it promoted discussion and identified cooperation and investment opportunities that serve the development of both countries.

The forum was held on the sidelines of the recent visit of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Republic of Poland. He noted the established and deep relations between both countries, which are built on mutual trust and constructive cooperation across various fields.

Moreover, it was noted that mutual investment opportunities are available especially in the fields of technology, agriculture and health care. Further areas for future Polish investment include contracting, trade and health, while Poland is considered an attractive destination for Qatari investments, mainly in the hospitality and industry sectors.

Furthermore, the forum also reviewed the achievements made by Qatar since the launch of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the significant developments in the country’s infrastructure. These achievements have greatly contributed to the States economic prosperity resulting in Qatar ranking 11th globally in overall competitiveness, according to the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) for 2024.
